I started fishing at 16 years old with my father and grandfather. We fished salmon, codfish, lobster and halibut, herring and other bait fish. I invested into the fishery with my father when I 17 years old and since then I haven't missed a year participating in the fishery every season. Today I mainly fish lobster and halibut, snow crab, cod, lumpfish, herring and mackerel. The fishery is complicated today compared to when I first started; there are more politics involved and more rules and regulations that help manage the fishery. I have always enjoyed fishing because it affords me the opportunity to be outdoors in the fresh air and on the open water. I also enjoy being my own boss and can make my own decisions about when I can go fishing. If you've landed on my profile page because you bought a lobster or halibut that I caught, I hope you enjoy it. It was caught with your enjoyment in mind.
