Sobeys launches ThisFish “Trace & Win” contest in stores across Canada

To encourage Canadians to discover who caught their dinner, Sobeys has launched a “Trace & Win” contest for their customers who buy seafood traceable through ThisFish.

Here’s how it works: pick up one of their fresh or frozen traceable fish products from the Sobeys seafood department. Then, with your computer or smartphone, enter the code located on the back of the package and let thisfish.info show you who caught your dinner, where it came from and how it was caught.

Every time you trace a product at Thisfish.info/sobeys, you’ll be automatically entered into a draw to win Sobeys gift cards valued at $200. The grocery retailer will be drawing winners every week for eight weeks.

Three Easy Ways to Enter:

  • With a computer, visit the Contest enrolment page at thisfish.info/Sobeys and enter your ThisFish code;
  • With your mobile phone, simply text “TRACE” to 21000 and an auto response will be sent back to you with the thisfish.info/sobeys website link; or
  • Scan the QR Code, which will take you to the Contest enrolment page at thisfish.info/sobeys

The “Trace & Win” Seafood contest runs from September 26, 2012 to November 21, 2012. Visit thisfish.info/Sobeys or see in-store for full contest rules and regulations. No purchase necessary.

I used to be able to get tag number on our fish from our store in Antigonish. But, recently it has become harder and harder to obtain from the clerk. I spoke to the Manager during Christmas and he said he would look into it. Now, there is NO SIGN of tag numbers, no advertising at the fish counter and no mention of it all. Did my store give up on this very worthy idea???
