The Canadian Council of Professional Fish Harvesters (CCPFH) and Thisfish / Ecotrust Canada hosted a reception for 300 fish harvesters and invited guests at the Vancouver Aquarium on Feb. 6, 2012. All seafood canapés and fish served at the reception were traceable back to the fisherman who caught it through Thisfish's groundbreaking traceability system.
The event celebrated Thisfish's first full year in which almost five million pounds of seafood were traced on Canada's East and West Coasts. The reception was a unique opportunity for those in the NGO, food, restaurant and hospitality sectors to learn about Thisfish and connect with the fish harvesters who are the foundation of Canada's globally renowned seafood industry.
